Russells Recognised As The Best Of The Best

Russell Roof Tiles has been recognised as a leading manufacturer in the UK, after being handpicked to appear in the 2020 Parliamentary Review.

The Parliamentary Review is a prestigious independent publication, featuring insight commentary from Government officials, ministers and sector leaders for more than 20 years. Each annual issue showcases up to 15 private and public sector organisations, representing just one leading business from each sector.

Featured businesses, which have all demonstrated outstanding contribution to their sector, are invited to share and promote best practice, with the strategic goal of raising standards. The magazine is distributed to more than 500,000 top Directors, CEOs and those in positions of leadership.

Employing 150 staff at three sites in Burton and Lochmaben, Russell Roof Tiles manufactures nearly one million roofing products per week and was specially selected to provide industry insight and knowledge. The firm is currently the first and only roof tile manufacturer to provide expert commentary in The Parliamentary Review.

By placing policy discussion into the hands of large and small organisations across the country, The Parliamentary Review moves away from the “Westminster bubble” to get to the heart of the issues that matter most to businesses. Jointly chaired by Lord Pickles and Lord Blunkett, the Review’s non-partisan approach facilitates policy development driven by those who are most affected by it.

Success for businesses of any size does not always come easily, and this year’s edition of The Parliamentary Review is indispensable for anyone who seeks to make a name for themselves in industry. It highlights significant developments and concerns for business leaders up and down the country.

The co-chairman of The Parliamentary Review, Lord Pickles, has praised the upcoming Review as one of the most comprehensive yet. He commented that as Britain undergoes changes, it is “essential that politicians have a firm understanding of the challenges with which British organisations must contend” and that The Review once again provides a perfect platform for this.

In her foreword for The Parliamentary Review, the Secretary of State for International Trade, Elizabeth Truss, states that “commerce and free exchange are the engine room of prosperity and social mobility” and that she is “determined to tackle the forces who want to hold that back”.

The Review follows an exceptional year of investment for Russell Roof Tiles. The team enhanced quality across the business by utilising the latest innovations in manufacturing, upgrading its technology and equipment and introducing new sustainable initiatives. It also invested in staff retention and upskilling its workforce to support the current skills crisis in construction.

In The Parliamentary Review, Andrew reflects on these investments, providing specialist commentary on why product innovation, career development and sustainable methods are vital for meeting required policies, preparing for the future and enabling Russell Roof Tiles to thrive as a business.

He said:

“In the past 12 months, we have worked tirelessly to improve and enhance key areas of the business, in order to remain a sector leader within the industry. This in turn allowed The Parliamentary Review to recognise our contribution and expertise within the sector. We are privileged to be the first roof tile manufacturer to provide expert commentary and insight.”
