With continued high demand for its vertical conveying solutions, Nerak Wiese has boosted the capacity of its engineering design department by recruiting William Thayer-Jones and Matthew Allen as Solution Design Engineers.

A graduate in Aerospace Engineering from Swansea University, William Thayer-Jones has completed work placements with Airbus and Momentive Specialty Chemicals, including time at the latter’s composite technologies subsidiary. During his studies, William designed, constructed and tested drones for use in the delivery of medical aid to remote areas in Tanzania. “I’m delighted to be able to apply my engineering skills in the material handling industry,” said William, “as Nerak machines are critical to the success of so many companies today.” Away from the office, William enjoys time at the gym and playing piano.

Matthew Allen joins Nerak from his role as Technical Engineer for insulation manufacturer, Siderise Group. Prior to this, he was employed as Mechanical Technical Engineer with Tata Steel for over five years. With an HND in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Wales, Matthew is experienced in CAD engineering and is enjoying his new role at Nerak. “This is an exciting sector to be working in,” he said, “because our solutions really make a difference in terms of efficiency and cost reduction for our clients.” In his spare time, Matthew is learning Japanese and also volunteers as a STEM Ambassador and as a Civilian Assistant for the local Army Cadets.

Based in Brecon, Nerak supplies clients in a range of manufacturing and distribution sectors with modular or bespoke solutions for handling both bulk materials and unit loads – including box, tote and carton lifts; pallet lifts; mezzanine lifts; continuous bucket conveyors; and pendulum bucket conveyors.
