Greenergy honoured at RoSPA Health and Safety Awards

Greenergy has won big at the internationally-renowned RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, being named as the winner in the Manufacturing Sector.

Greenergy is Europe’s largest manufacturer of waste-based biodiesel, renewables and was founded in the 1990s to supply low emission diesel, offering significant air quality benefits.

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards are open to organisations of all sizes from across the wide spectrum of industries, all over the world. In 2021, there were nearly 2,000 entrants from 46 countries, representing 7million employees globally.

The sector awards are presented to organisations with outstanding performance in health and safety within a particular industry or sector. Entrants must be able to demonstrate a robust and high-quality safety management system, together with a consistently excellent or continuously improving health and safety performance.

Julia Small, RoSPA’s Achievements Director, said: “It’s a massive achievement to be named the winner in your sector at the RoSPA Awards, which are the toughest health and safety awards in the world, so Greenergy deserves all the credit it gets.”

While Greenergy was named winner in the Engineering Services Sector, L’Oreal’s site in North Little Rock, Arkansas, was Highly Commended and Moores Furniture Group and D Wardle (Plant) Limited were Commended.

The RoSPA Awards, which is now in its 65th year, recognises achievement in health and safety management systems, including practices such as leadership and workforce involvement.

Headline sponsor of the RoSPA Awards 2021 is NEBOSH – the National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health – for the 16th consecutive year.
