Injection moulding and chrome-plating specialist Borough Ltd., has announced the promotion of Aamir Chaudhry to the role of General Manager at the Essex-based manufacturing firm.
Chaudhry, who joined Borough in 2012 as Quality Manager, has been rewarded with this new role partly in recognition of his continued dedication to maintaining the firm’s renowned high quality manufacturing standards during the UK’s recent Coronavirus lockdowns.
Director David Brereton explained: “Aamir’s capacity and willingness to take on additional responsibilities during the unprecedented difficulties manufacturers faced for more than a year, highlighted him as a future leader here at Borough.
“Our production facilities have remained busy throughout the pandemic and Aamir really stepped up to ensure our quality never diminished, with pressing deadlines continuing to be met. Even with a skeleton staff, under his guidance we managed to complete component orders vital to the manufacture of respirators in the darkest days of the pandemic.
“His dedication reached new levels over the last 18 months, but this promotion is the culmination of his effort over his entire time with us and the way he has helped shaped our processes to ensure we remain the first choice chrome plating specialist for the UK automotive industry.”
In his new position, Aamir will be providing increased support to Directors David Brereton and Nick Coombes and strengthen links to the wider managerial team in order to deliver greater efficiencies to the business and ensure optimum manufacturing quality.
Chaudhry added: “It is incredibly gratifying to have my work ethic and skill set rewarded in this way. The last 12 months have been challenging and at times very worrying, but incredibly rewarding professionally, now we’re through the worst of it.
“It’s not just down to me, but the entire team at Borough that has put the business in a great position to continue evolving and moving forward to meet the manufacturing demands of the post-Covid world and I am really enthusiastic to be part of it.”
