Taylor Maxwell, one of the UK’s leading suppliers of brick, façade and timber solutions to the construction industry, has launched SpecView, a new in-house visualisation service that allows architects and specifiers to see how façade materials will look across a full building before they commit to a specification.

SpecView combines live visualisation with hands-on guidance from Taylor Maxwell’s brick and masonry specialists. Architects and Main Contractor design teams can bring an early concept or a scheme already in development, compare finishes side by side across full elevations, and leave the session with a clearer direction for their façade design.

The service is aimed at the early stages of a project, particularly RIBA Stages 2 to 4, when material decisions can have a significant influence on a scheme’s design intent, performance and cost. Unlike conventional sample boards or standalone digital visualiser tools, SpecView brings product choice, technical insight and visual comparison together in one session.

Sessions are free of charge, typically run for 45 to 60 minutes, and can take place at any Taylor Maxwell location across the UK or by appointment at an architect’s own office.

Jonathan Rosie, Managing Director of the Taylor Maxwell Group, said, “Architects are increasingly being asked to justify material decisions earlier and with more confidence and that is exactly where SpecView adds value.
“It is not just a visualisation tool. Every session comes with expert input from our brick specialists, so the options being explored are practical, buildable and right for the project from the outset.
“Façade specification is about much more than choosing a material sample. Project teams need to understand how a brick will work across a whole elevation, how it supports the design intent and whether it is practical for the scheme. SpecView gives them that clarity much earlier in the process.”

SpecView forms part of Taylor Maxwell’s wider suite of specification support services, which includes CPD seminars, material specification support, brick matching, technical guidance, samples, product data and specification documents. It is also available alongside the company’s existing Product Selector tool.

Architects and specifiers can book a SpecView session at their nearest Taylor Maxwell location, or request a visit from the team, via www.taylormaxwell.co.uk/specview.
