While economic uncertainty, rising unemployment and technological disruption continue to challenge UK businesses, Gi Group UK has recorded its ‘best-ever month’ in 2026 after securing six new on-site client wins throughout June.
As one of the UK’s leading HR and recruitment specialists, Gi Group UK, works with businesses across a number of sectors including manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and food & drink. Despite facing the “toughest times in modern recruitment”, Managing Director Andy Carpenter said the business’s recent successes mark an exciting new chapter.
Andy said: “There is no denying that the current climate across the UK has resulted in the most prolonged times of change in modern recruitment. I’ve worked in this industry for 30 years, managing the financial crash, covid unemployment, hybrid working, Brexit and much more, but I have never experienced such a challenging time of uncertainty.
“However, despite the ongoing challenges, we’re pleased to have achieved our best month on record with an impressive six on-site client wins throughout June. It marks an exciting new chapter for Gi Group. We continue to be agile in a difficult market, and our new clients range from a global food manufacturer to an international e-commerce platform and global leader in pet nutrition.”
According to the latest data from the Office for National Statistics (ONS), estimates for payrolled employees in the UK fell by 138,000 between April 2025 and April 2026. In May 2026 there was a decrease in payrolled employees of 0.4% on the year – which is largely unchanged on the month, increasing by just 2,000 to 30.3 million. Following its recent client wins, Gi Group has boosted its client base by over 10% in 2026, which will result in more than 1000 job opportunities throughout the UK.
Andy added: “As we focus on scaling our customer base, securing contracts with leading household names is a fantastic win for our team. We will be supporting each new client with multiple on-site opportunities, resulting in more than 1000 new job opportunities to the UK labour market. These wins offer a change in momentum and a new perspective on our working model. Gone are the times where businesses can maintain the same business model and hope for the best, we’re living in times of constant change which requires a growth mindset and a focus on profitability.”
Gi Group has vast experience across the manufacturing and pet sectors its new clients serve, which has supported its successes. The business’s approach is centred around growth and a commitment to increasing its service capabilities. Investing in household names, its new client sites are split across the North and South of the country, providing much needed job opportunities throughout.
The leading recruitment specialist has ambitious plans for the future and hopes it can play a leading role in levelling up access to jobs across the country, with its latest client wins marking the beginning of this mission.
