Leading pitched roof tile manufacturer Russell Roof Tiles is supporting leading East Midlands Residential Developer, MyPad on three significant Social Housing developments in partnership with Nottingham Community Housing Association.
The firm has been specified on major developments across the Midlands over the last 12-months.
The first, located in Chesterfield (Derbyshire), is a £4.2m development of 26 two and three-bedroom bungalows and houses situated near the Midland Main Line (railway line) and makes use of a previously unused plot of land.
MyPad proposed the social housing development to utilise the vacant land to provide high quality housing that is sustainable and attractive. The project is expected to be completed soon, with Russell Roof Tiles providing it's Lothian tiles in Slate Grey as a high-quality but cost-effective solution that will help to ensure the development exceeds current Building Standards.
Further south in Melton Mowbray (Leicestershire), the roof tile manufacturer is also assisting MyPad on the £12.8m Lake Terrace development which will see 90 affordable homes built. The waterside homes will be a mix of one, two and three-bedroom properties and provide much-needed quality housing for families in the area.
Estimated to be complete by winter 2025, Russell Roof Tiles has also provided its Lothian tiles in Slate Grey, proving to be one of MyPad’s favoured roofing solutions for its social housing schemes, along with its full dry fix kit. The tiles, which offer a thinner leading edge and use 15 per cent less raw materials than a standard concrete roof tile, are helping the development meet its high sustainability standards with the housing itself being constructed from Timber Frame.
Just last year the manufacturer supplied Lothian tiles in Slate Grey for a £5.8m social housing development in Ashbourne (Derbyshire). The project saw 37 two bed and three bed houses built on a plot of land that was previously home to a service station.
Ross Hayward, Area Sales Manager at Russell Roof Tiles said: “We are extremely proud to be maintaining our strong relationship with MyPad through these social housing projects, and continue to work in tandem with Taylor Roofing to provide these sought after roofing solutions.
“Our products are specified frequently for social housing projects, and we know how important it is to find a product that provides the best balance of high quality and low cost. Our Lothian tiles create the desired slate-like appearance whilst offering the commercial benefits of concrete tiles and being a much more sustainable choice. It’s wonderful to be able to achieve these results for such important projects.”
Michael Broadhurst, Commercial Manager at MyPad commented: “We’ve worked with Russell Roof Tiles on multiple projects over the last few years. For all of these projects we really needed a high-quality, reliable and cost-effective roofing solution with a slate effect and Russell Roof Tiles were able to provide the perfect choice.”
