Pioneering partnership announced to speed up subsidence claims

With an estimated 70 per cent of residential subsidence claims reported to involve trees or vegetation, and with the average claim lifecycle dragging on up two years, two innovative firms are joining forces to tackle this issue.

With an estimated 70 per cent of residential subsidence claims reported to involve trees or vegetation, and with the average claim lifecycle dragging on up two years, two innovative firms are joining forces to tackle this issue.

Leading ground engineering firm Mainmark Ground Engineering (UK) Ltd has partnered with Enviro Trees to shortcut claims time, involving vegetation and tree related subsidence, using new technology.

Mainmark is itself a global pioneer, using new technologies in ground engineering and asset preservation for both residential and commercial projects.

Enviro Trees UK is a leader in tree services management. Founded in Australia in 2010, the business rapidly extended into the insurance sector, and in 2022 expanded into the UK.

Enviro Trees has invested in creating their Verifii© technology – a system that accelerates and improves subsidence claim decisions by providing early, data-driven recommendations. The system has been designed to reduce the claim lifecycle while providing a better experience for the policy holder. The mobile app utilises wider business intelligence supported by an arborist report, providing more data at the outset, to speed up claims cost and lifecycle.

Tom Kavanagh, General Manager at Mainmark UK, explains the reason for the partnership: “We recognise the challenge that a lengthy subsidence claim causes and see the frustration from policy holders. This type of alternative gives our sector the opportunity to be much more creative and take a more customer focused approach so that relevant subsidence claims can be managed quicky and cost effectively. If we are able to help cut down the traditional process by a third as well as creating a better experience for the policy holder and reducing paperwork then it’s a win, win.”
James Murrey, Chief Operating Officer at Enviro Trees adds “We’re pleased to be working alongside Mainmark. Our two organisations have very similar innovative approaches as well as a shared antipodean heritage.
“We developed Verifii© to reduce claim lifecycle, cost, and improve policy holder experience by enabling early, data-driven decision making related to tree and vegetation, promoting the fastest route to mitigation. Traditional workflows can take up to two years, whilst Verifii© could reduce the timeline to as little as 30 days from FNOL, significantly speeding up the process.”

Keenly aware of the challenge of trees and vegetation and resulting subsidence, Mainmark is also participating in the Tree Law Conference on 17th September in London. This specialist event will discuss issues and topics such as damage caused by trees, subsidence, and ground heave, as well as legislation and planning law.

Tom continued “As a company, we have a passion for collaborating and developing innovative solutions to tackle challenges faced by our customers and to work closely with industry experts to ensure we achieve state-of-the-art results.”

This year continues to be a successful year for Mainmark having just moved into larger UK premises to help meet its growth ambitions. The company was also shortlisted for “UK Project with a Geotechnical Value of up to £500K’’ category at the annual Ground Engineering Awards. The shortlisted project highlights the company’s work on the construction of the 43-storey tower, Arena Point in Leeds. The world’s tallest purpose-built student accommodation, was halted due to unstable ground and was only able to progress thanks to the expertise of Mainmark, who successfully strengthened the ground prior to excavation using its innovative Teretek® geopolymer resin injection technology.

Mainmark Ground Engineering (UK) Ltd is a subsidiary of the Mainmark group of companies originally established in 1989, with its UK headquarters located in Milton Keynes. For over three decades, Mainmark has established itself as a pioneering force in the industry, leading the way in developing and delivering cutting-edge solutions. With an impressive track record of over 200,000 successful projects across Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the UK, Mainmark has earned international recognition as an award-winning ground engineer.
