An automotive manufacturing business that has transitioned rapidly to the demands of electrification, has been recognised with a major industry award.

Autocraft Solutions Group has scooped the ‘Business Growth and Strategy Award’ at the Midlands and East Make UK Awards, which champions the brightest businesses in UK manufacturing and industry supply chains.

The award recognises Autocraft’s rapid ascent in the EV industry, positioning itself as one of the few global companies capable of manufacturing EV batteries at scale. The firm, which has remanufactured traditional ICE engines since the 1970s, expanded into the accelerating EV market a few years ago, developing REVIVE®, a patented process enabling the testing and repair of battery faults at a cellular level. This innovation has enabled Autocraft to collaborate with leading automotive OEMs such as Bentley and Jaguar Land Rover, focusing on extending EV lifespan and performance while minimising environmental impact and protecting OEMs from battery-related warranty issues.

Make UK also acknowledged Autocraft’s substantial investments in digitalisation, particularly its augmented reality-based system ARIA®, which enhances production efficiency, implements a ‘no-fault-forward’ process, and accelerates employee upskilling, reducing training time from six months to two weeks.

By adapting to the evolving automotive landscape, Autocraft has expanded its customer base and physical presence over the past few years, tripling its UK sites and launching a new EV battery repair facility in Arnhem, The Netherlands.

Mike Hague-Morgan, Executive Director of Autocraft Solutions Group, commented: “Over the years we have maximised our existing assets and increased operational agility, building our business strategically to scale up with demand, which will ensure we are prepared for whichever direction the future automotive sector will take. Receiving this award is testament to our fantastic team, who share our passion, and work hard to ensure we’re ahead of the curve.”

The award is the second accolade the company has won this year after previously winning ‘Best Remanufacturing Innovation’ at this year’s Remanufacturer of the Year awards at the REMATEC exhibition in the Netherlands, the world’s leading platform for remanufacturing.
