A manufacturer that specialises in supplying flight cases to the events industry has experienced a successful year after pivoting its product offering.

Like many businesses, Trifibre Ltd has had to work hard to adapt to the circumstances of the pandemic and a country in lockdown, utilising its skillset to develop products for other sectors.

Specialist sectors it supplies include medical, engineering, oil and gas, which although affected by the pandemic, have still required custom casing and packaging for various operations.

The firm has also supported the fight against COVID-19 by manufacturing cases for testing kits and using precision foam engineering to make foam pieces for PPE, such as visors.

Trifibre, which is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2021, has used the opportunity to work hard on product development for the consumer market by increasing its ecommerce offering through new storage solutions for sports and equestrian equipment.

The change in direction has been achievable due to the company’s on-going investments in the latest technology, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) technology, rotational moulding machinery and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) routers.

Chris Cox, Managing Director at Trifibre Ltd, comments: “Trifibre is predominantly built on supporting the events industry, so the question we asked ourselves was ‘how do we thrive when there are no events, no concerts and no tours?’

“We had to work quickly to adapt to the situation, but we knew we had the skills and ability to specialise across a wide and diverse range of sectors.

“Our shift in focus has moved to supporting the medical and engineering industries and increasing the types of products we sell directly to consumers, which has enabled us to successfully navigate a year of uncertainty.

“There are many independent companies like us working as suppliers to the events industry that continue to be impacted by social distancing restrictions.

“Our flexibility and attention to customer service meant that we were understanding of our customers’ challenges throughout lockdown, and we have been able to adjust accordingly to help them by holding deliveries and maintaining stock levels.

“At Trifibre, we are lucky have a great team of staff who care about our business and our customers, and are working to further diversify our services.”

Trifibre customers include the Met Police, Ministry of Defence, Johnson & Johnson, Fender, McLaren, Samsung and more.
