Pyroban To Celebrate 50th Anniversary At LogiMAT 2019.
5 Dec 18
In 2019, explosion protection company Pyroban will celebrate 50 years of helping to keep people safe in potentially explosive atmospheres. At LogiMAT, from 19th – 21st February 2019 in Stuttgart, Germany, Pyroban will be inviting manufacturers and users of lift trucks, warehouse equipment, scrubber driers, cranes and other industrial vehicles used in ‘ATEX’ zones to join the celebration.
At stand A55 in Hall 9, visitors can speak to the experts from Pyroban to learn more about explosion protection solutions for converting materials handling equipment used in Zone 1 and 2, where gases or vapours may pose an explosion risk, as well as solutions for Zone 21 and 22 where dust and powders present a risk of ignition.
Only a relatively small percentage of materials handling equipment in the logistics industry is used for operations in Zone 1, 2, 21 or 22 hazardous areas. Therefore, equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are not usually able to invest in making trucks that come off the production line compliant with explosion protection standards, such as ATEX 2014/34/EU* or EN1755:2015**. Instead, Pyroban works closely with any OEM to apply explosion protection conversion technologies to diesel and electric trucks so that they can operate safely.
Pyroban also supports OEMs, truck dealers and end users with training, service, parts and support, including Ex-ASAs – the Pyroban Annual Safety Audit. This is a thorough inspection of all safety critical components and systems by a Pyroban engineer which ensures that the integrity of explosion protected equipment is not compromised during its working lifetime, helping to support compliance with the ATEX Directives.
The Pyroban project began in 1969 in Shoreham-by-Sea, UK, to provide bespoke explosion protection solutions for industry worldwide and has earned a global reputation for safety, which continues to be the company’s top priority. Today, Pyroban helps keep people safe in a variety of logistics and warehousing applications where potentially explosive atmospheres may exist, including those in the food and drink, cosmetic, pharmaceutical, chemical, coatings and waste management industries.
In 2018, Pyroban’s new owners re-organised its worldwide operations, creating a new global centre of excellence at its Shoreham-by-Sea, UK, facility. It has since invested in the introduction of a new electric vehicle conversion production line at the UK plant, increasing market share and export output. Recently, the company announced a further £500,000 investment in its UK facilities, leading to the creation of dozens of career opportunities.
